When in front of a chosen subject matter, we, as painters, initiate a silent dialogue with it, a bit spiritual, where you feel excitement and emotion to paint the scene and through the process-composition, colors, shapes, and feelings-dictate the path to follow. They are all part of the conversation! We want to render our piece in an honest way, whether landscape or still life, that keeps a dialogue alive, and certainly makes our intentions to get to a pleasing end
